A gentle, breezy animation by ‘Ohyujin’ for a gentle breezy song by ‘Yusin Oh’. ‘Simple Question of Balance’ has a calming quality to the animation and the painted illustrations in bright primary colours give it a charm and lightness. I loved it.
I love the startled look in all the characters’ eyes in this animated music video for Cannon Birds song ‘Plastic’. It was directed and animated by Chintis Lundgren.
Also check out this little short he did in a similar style: https://vimeo.com/33675356
‘A Gum Boy’ is pretty kinetic! Beautiful painted style, quirky sound/song and whip fast animation. Loads of fun.

Slick and stylish illustrated type based animation for Paris based agency Havas Worldwide created by Quad. Great sound design and a limited colour palette add to this great piece of motion design.
An amazing short film by Patrick Doyon that was nominated and won loads of awards last year. It oozes with charm and is beautifully designed and animated.
‘Beluga’ is a beautifully painted, absolutely terrifying, super surreal hand made animation. The music heightens up the tension and the subdued colours strike the perfect mood. It was made by Shin Hashimoto who describes the story as ‘A poor girl suffers even in her own dream’ …that’s an understatement if I ever read one!

Frenetic hand drawn looping animations form the basis of this bonkers music video.

Here is the best of edit of the Animation Sequence Project that was shown at the opening ceremony of the KLIK Animation Festival. I’m really pleased that my entry was picked and kicks off the action at the start. It then goes in lots of unexpected directions always coming back to the square in the middle, a great device for creating a seamless sequence.

Awesome RCA short by the very talented Eamonn O Neill.

Effortlessly cool animation for Rolling Stone Magazine. I love the constantly evolving imagery and the rough around the edges illustration style. The script is perfectly pitched with a great reveal at the end. Top marks!

This amazing animation gives the viewer a small insight into how some people with autism have difficulty processing intense, multiple sensory experiences at once.
Directed & animated by Miguel Jiron
I’m not sure how I’ve missed this animation until now. Another amazing opening title for the Annecy animation festival, this one is from 2010.
A headache inducing, slightly twisted animation over fish eye lens footage for Lollapalooza Brasil 2013.
Dreamy bit of 2D animation from Alla Kinda.
